Diploicia canescens – Thallus white to pale grey, forming placodioid rosettes up to 5cm. across with clearly defined marginal lobes up to 1mm. wide. Centre of thallus often covered in patches of slightly yellowish soralia (asexual reproductive bodies). Very rarely fertile. K+yellow. Common on nutrient rich basic rock in supralittoral. (cf. Solenospera candicans which has black fruits and is K- .)
